Susannah married John Stoy, son of Petter Stey and Margretha [-?-], circa 1782 (based on name in John's probate papers.)
Susanna Stoy witnessed the will of Lt John Bryce on 24 Apr 1807 in Philadelphia - he had been a Captain in the Fourth Regiment of Artillery. Bryce had apparently fought with John Stoy in some early actions.1
Susanna Stoy, wife of John Stoy, late of the city of Philadelphia, Edmund Kinsey, and Thomas Tompkins, both of Philadelphia, agreed to a bond of administration of $2000 on 13 Feb 1808. John had died without a will and Susanna as administrix had one year to inventory and account for his possessions. She signed and sealed the document.2
She appeared in the 1816 Philadelphia city directory as “widow of John,” residing at 117 Spruce Street.3
She could not be located in the 1820 census or in any city directory after 1819, so she likely died c.1820 - there were no known children she might have lived with.
She also appeared as “Susannah” in the 1819 directory, residing at 122 Spruce.4

Susannah [-?-] was mentioned in the following event: A bond of administration for the estate of John Stoy was issued by the Philadelphia Court on 13 Feb 1808. Susanna Stoy, widow of John, was administrix; Edmund Kinsey and Thomas Tomkins gave their bond. She was to complete the account of the estate within one year, by 13 Feb 1809. Tomkins resided on Hanover Street (then Columbia Avenue) in Kensington in the Philadelphia city directory of 1808, lending more weight to Petter Stey being the father of John. Edmund Kinsey, also in the same directory, resided at 93 Chestnut Street (in Chestnut Ward, where he can be found in the 1800 and 1810 censuses) and was a sadler - the same occupation as Peter Stoy, son of Petter Stey.2
